Susan Stanley, LMT, works with her clients to restore proper function and health to the body, focusing on postural and gait issues, balancing strength and flexibility, and restoring joint alignment and functional movement. Pain and dysfunction should not be the norm when there are so many approaches to healing the body. Sue tailors her sessions to fit the needs and goals of her clients, taking into account previous and current activity, injury and lifestyle.
Susan has been a massage therapist for 8 years, an ART* practitioner for 2, and a personal trainer for 12, and has pursued graduate work in exercise physiology. She is an Ironman triathlete, and has contributed to publications on manual treatment and exercise. An athlete herself, she understands the importance of strength and balance both in and out of the competitive arena. She strives to restablish pain-free movement and activity potential for all, no matter what the "event."
Sessions can focus on a specific area or areas, or address the body as a whole; the focus can be rehabilitation or relaxation. Session length can range from a half hour for highly focused work to an hour and a half for a more comprehensive approach.
(*Active Release Technique (ART) is a highly effective method of manually releasing contracted and adhered muscle, fascia and connective tissue, to restore the body’s movement potential. It facilitates the healing process and is appropriate at any stage of injury or dysfunction.)
