Hudson Family Chiropractic Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a systemized method of soft tissue manipulation designed to aid the body's natural healing process. Any person can benefit from treatments, no matter what lifestyle you lead through work or recreation. Pain in muscles and stiffness in joints accumulates over time as the body continuously handles physical and mental stresses. With regular treatments, massage therapy can become an integral part of your healing process by restoring physical symmetry and mental balance to your life. Self-discovery is a valuable part of this process, and sessions of bodywork will provide you with information to help you develop healthy habits to practice at home.

Massage treatments aim to:

• Develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function.
• Relieve or prevent physical dysfunction and pain
• Relax tight and tense muscle tissue
• Improve circulation, recovery time and immune system function
• Reduce overall stress

Massage therapy is also effective in the control of pain, chronic or acute, in stress reduction, and in creating a sense of relaxation and well-being, by creating awarness of one’s physical body, and knowing how to act to relieve tension or pain at home, before coming in for treatment.

Hudson Family Chiropractic has the following massage therapists on board:

Jonathan McKune has been a Certified Massage Therapist since 2003. Jonathan has worked both in high-end spas and health clubs, as well as with Seton Hall University's Men's Basketball Team, the New York Red Bulls Major League Soccer Team and the PGA Tour.

Using various modalities of massage, he will customize each session to the individual based on previous and current issues as well as lifestyle. Some of the forms of massage he uses are Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Acupressure and Neuromuscular. He has also taken advanced education on neck/cervical massage.

Sessions can focus on a specific area or areas, or address the body as a whole; the focus can be rehabilitation or relaxation. Session length can range from a half hour for highly focused work to an hour and a half for a more comprehensive approach.
