Massage treatments aim to:
• Develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical
function.
• Relieve or prevent physical dysfunction and pain
• Relax tight and tense muscle tissue
• Improve circulation, recovery time and immune system function
• Reduce overall stress
Massage therapy is also effective in the control of pain,
chronic or acute, in stress reduction, and in creating a sense
of relaxation and well-being, by creating awarness of one’s
physical body, and knowing how to act to relieve tension or
pain at home, before coming in for treatment.
Hudson Family Chiropractic has
chosen Kristen
Kurie, NCTMB,
a nationally certified massage therapist and bodyworker, to
work with clients’ specific areas of discomfort while
on their road to improved health. She administers a slow, deep,
method of treating tissues either tight or painful to the touch,
incorporating stretching and active participation from the
client when necessary. Some patients require more extensive
therapy while other patients require only a few visits.
A former ballet dancer, she is atune to the workings of the
body. She will work with her clients to further their personal
goals in areas such as proper posture, or improved sport performance.
Kristen is certified in neuromuscular technique, deep tissue,
sports, and Swedish massage. A common miscoception by clients
is that they will receive one of the above modalities per session.
These techniques are like tools in a toolbox, and are adminstered
when appropriate, so it is common to receive treatment from
more than one category when appropriate. Each session is progressive,
and frequency of appointments can affect the rate of recovery.
Therefore, budgeting time and money for bodywork at consistant
intervals is truly an investment in your health.
