Alice came across as a massage therapist through a non-traditional light. "I used to seek massage therapy as my only sanctuary when I was a financial consultant. The grueling hours, stressful deadlines, and constant travel made my body weak and my mind and spirit weaker." When her non-stop on-the-go lifestyle made her think twice about her career, she booked a one-way ticket to South America. Once there, she threw herself into a place and culture that was completely foreign to her. Only then, she was able to detach herself from the prestige and material things that seemed to matter so much back at home. She slowly started to feel less afraid to let go of what she had and start over again.
As a former financial consultant, Alice truly believes in the mind-body connection. There were times when she felt paralyzed by stress and consequently, her body reacted. She became enslaved to chronic illnesses such as insomnia and upset stomach. Nothing helped, until she started to receive regular massages and bodywork. Now, she feels lucky to realize our body does not sit solely on the physical plane, but also it is intertwined with the emotional and spiritual. "Our body responds to the way we think, feel, and act."
Today, Alice is a licensed massage therapist by The National Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She specializes in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy, Reflexology, and Hot Stone massages. She is currently a student of Ayurvedic treatments studying under Dr. Ghandi from Roop Ayurvedic Day Spa in Hoboken, NJ.
